Any trends in SS education |

My church has been discussing changing its SS. Maybe move the worship service away from the 11 o'clock hour to 9 or 9:30. Have a time of fellowship after
the morning worship and keep one adult SS class for the seniors. Then move the rest of the SS to Wednesday evening. On Sunday evenings we will have small
groups in various locations where people are concentrated. Is that a trend and has it been proven to work. A couple of churches I'm familiar with has tried
various ways and they have returned to the traditional SS hours, though one has it after the morning worship.
With all the tweaking that is being done with SS, is SS becoming passe?

Community Study Groups, Bible Study, Discipleship Training, Pastor's Study, Fellowship Study, etc.

Some trends are playing off the idea that "Sunday School" sounds too demeaning to an adult and have changed the "adult sunday school" to
something like "Laymen's Bible Institute".
A model that I have seen in a liberal church which I like is something they called "Institute for Discipleship" which models its local church adult education ministry on a BOCES kind of model and provides small group classes throughout the week on a quarterly basis during the year. I have been entrepreneuring an adult ed class in my church devoted to matters of Christian Ethics and doctrine that has appealed to some adults in the congregation and that the ministry really seems to appreciate..
