In Jim Ellis' article What is Hyper-Calvinism, he points out the primary two erros in hyper-calvinism as "a denial of duty-faith and a denial
of the universal call of the gospel". While those may be the two that originally brought about the term, hyper-calvinism, I thought the rejection of
common grace was one of the big bug-a-boo's with hyper-calvinism along with the rejection of the 'general call'. The neglect of common grace leads
them to mis-portray God in His benevolences toward the world. The rejection of the 'general call' leads them to retreat from any form or mention of
evangelism.

is the same thing as the denial of the universal call.
I think the denial of common grace is not listed as "primary" simply because it is more of a corollary of other errors that they hold, than a foundational error. They deny common grace because they previously deny that God can be favorably disposed to the non-elect even in a limited or temporary way (which also causes them to deny the general call.)

The denial of the general call is not the same thing as the denial of common grace/the free offer.
"Every man is obligated to repent and believe the Gospel, therefore every man should be called to repent and believe the Gospel." is not the same as "Every man is obligated to repent and believe the Gospel, therefore every man should be told that Christ died for them."
