Maybe we can batter this around some. It appears the opposite contending view today among the majority of conservative evangelicals with Calvinistic soteriology is not 'true' historical arminianism but something else that doesn't have a called label to it. They are those who argue against works, but at the same time advocates a free-will choosing. They adamantly argue against labelling their faith in choosing Christ and obtaining the gift of salvation as a work. They still contend that Jesus' did all the work that paves the way for their salvation. Then what really puts them outside the arminian camp is their belief that one cannot lose his/hers salvation. I think all the discussions that the Reformed camp makes in distinquishing between ourselves with arminian theology mostly go unnotice by the majority of conservative evangelicals today as they do not view themselves as belonging to either party.
