I know of someone when learned that it is not meant to be taken literally wants the Session to take one of the three above actions.
My own opinion is that we need to be clearly speaking the truth in a way that can be understood by our congregations and this is NOT taking place if we are teaching them to confess a creed that does not say what we mean it to say in the language in which people speak. This seems rather basic and I personally think it appalling that churches that claim to hold to sola scriptura would continue to engage in a confession that is out of accord with the Scriptures.
