Music, Movies and TV fall into the "Meat Sacrificed to Idols" category.

You can make this direct comparison, but it appears to me to be invalid. The argument was made earlier that Paul said that the Christian could, in effect and good conscience, buy his meat at the Pagan Temple Butcher Shop. He didn't say that the Christian could participate in the services that led up to the meat being available.

By analogy, how can you segregate the 'worship service' from the 'beef' in the context of the pagan philosophy and practice that is the INTENT of so much of music, art, TV, movies, etc.? Where do you draw a line? How do you draw it? How do you know that it's "OK for me to see a sex scene in Matrix Reloaded or Body Heat (had to show my age), but not to go to the cabaret or see an X flick?"

Pay some attention to MTV and its philosophy sometime (you don't have to watch it to get this information, folks). They say clearly that they don't intend to be an 'entertainment,' but to change people's minds. If you think that Hollywood, or TV, or anybody else has any different agenda, you might want to reconsider.
