trying it the second time. The clerk even gave her an out by refusing it the first time without calling in the authorities, but the second time, she had been duly informed that it wasn't a valid form of payment and still tried to use it as payment. There was no longer any question of an "innocent mistake," and her goose was thoroughly cooked.
