Well, that's part of the problem of talking about "seeing" anything in space. What we're actually seeing is light that emanated from an object that used to be there, but that may since have moved or even been destroyed.
I simply meant that, phenomenologically, we can "see" the stars. But in point of fact, if God created light in transit from stars billions of light years away, there would be little reason to create the stars themselves. After all, we will never actually see any of the light from those stars. The only light the world will ever receive is the light that was created in transit.
