Chialism and pre-millennial |

Historical pre-millennialism doctrine differs from dispensational pre-millennialism in several ways. In several aspects of eschatology Historical pre-mill
resembes that of both a-mill and post-mill whereas dispensational pre-mill differs completely.
Is Chialism closer in doctrine to Historical Pre-mills or Dispensational pre-mills?

The term has matured to "normally" mean Historic Premillenialist, however there are some ... (ex. Michael Vlach of Masters seminary confuses chialism
with premillennialism or try http://www.biblicist.org/bible/premil.shtml)

I'm still trying to nail down where I stand but I think it would be closer to historical pre-mill. I read a statement the other day by someone who remarked
that he thought Gerstner argued from a historical pre-mill position. He wasn't entirely sure. He only said he thought it to be true. I don't have any
comments on that statement. I'm just passing it along.
I ordered Mathison's book Dispensationalism: Rightly Dividing the People of God the other day and it should be here pretty soon. I never knew some of the controversies exist that actually do but I'll try a good read most any day. Thank you, "Doc" "This same Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven." (Acts 1:11) But where? A return to Amsterdam? Santiago, Chile? Kansas City, Missouri? |

Though I disagree with PM, the book does a good job of laying out the PM position. Of course, I am AM and thus would promote those books that properly present this position (i.e. Beale, Engelsma, etc.).

Chiliasm versus Premillennialism? | #6 | ||

I must be among the confused. Perhaps you could explain what is the difference between Premillennialism (not the Dispensational variety) versus Chiliasm.

Sorry, if my question is confusing.
I know there is a big difference between the dispensationalist premillennial and historical premillennial positions in certain areas. My question was whether Chialism falls closer to the historical or to the dispensational position. I gather you are anwering that it may be the historical pre-millennial position. I was not advocating any differences between Chialism and the historical (I assume you mean that is the non-dispensational variety) positions. Maybe, we need a summary of the key points of Chialism.
